Ingredients
- 8 leaves of Mexican Mint (fresh)
- 4 tbsp gram flour
- 1/8 tsp salt
- a pinch – turmeric powder
- a pinch – asafoetida
- a pinch – chilli/pepper powder
- 1 cup oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine gram flour, salt, turmeric powder, chilli/pepper powder and asofetida.
- Add water little by little so that the batter becomes a thick flowy mass
- Clean the Mexican mint leaves thoroughly and tap it dry with cotton cloth.
- In a pan, pour the oil and let it heat up.
- Dip each leaf into the thick paste so that both the sides get coated with the paste and drop in hot oil
- Keep the pan on low heat and let the pakora cook slowly till it become brown.
- Remove from the pan and put it on a plate with strainer so that the oil drains away.
- Serve hot with coconut/green chutney

- Pick fresh leaves and eat it hot to get maximum flavour.
